A little about me:
I was born in Glasgow, Scotland and am now based in Toronto, Canada. I’ve been working in the fashion industry for over eighteen years. I am first-time mother to a beautiful baby boy. Excited on this adventure as a new mother, I found that many blogs focus on advice and tips – great tips! But fashion, style and trendy products have been hard for me to find – that’s why I created Mama Don’t Preach – you’ll find no advice here, just fun, stylish things for style conscious and fun-loving mamas!
Some more about me…
I started my career as a model and talent agent in the mid-90’s, representing some now famous names, including Stephen Amell (CW’s Arrow), Brad Goreski (E! Fashion Police), David Rocco (celebrity chef), Natalie Brown (The Strain), and more.
I now own fashion branding and publicity agency Magnet Creative Management and am the co-owner of the exclusive fashion showroom Stylist Box, where we dress celebrities for red carpet events and get designers featured in magazine editorials. I am sometimes seen in front of the camera as the fashion host for TDot TV and I’ve been freelancing over the years for various publications, including FLARE.com, Huffington Post, Global News, Revive Magazine, and more.
I am lucky enough to be called upon for various television appearances on a variety of reality shows and news broadcasts, including W Network’s #RippleEffect, and as an industry expert on Slice’s X-Weighted, Party Mamas, MTV Live, CBC News, Global News’ The Morning Show, CTV News, and more.
In 2011, I was nominated as “Communicator of the Year” by the Scottish Fashion Awards, in association with VOGUE.com. (My name was in VOGUE – dream come true!)
I have a major soft spot helping further the careers of young fashion entrepreneurs as a mentor for Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI). CANFAR, Beauty Gives Back and The Shoebox Project are just some of the great charities I contribute to and work with throughout the year.
