You may not think being enclosed in a room for 2 hours as an escape, but when you’re a parent, it’s like heaven. With roots in Asia in the mid 00’s, escape rooms are continuing their popularity across North America (there are over 30 across the GTA alone). So what exactly is an “escape room”? Essentially, it’s a game where players are locked in a room and have to unlock clues to solve a series of puzzles and “escape” within a set time limit. Sounds like fun, right?
Combining the adventure of the escape room with charity, D’ZYNE is an interior design game of clue taking place on Saturday, July 9th. Played within a maze of 13 staged rooms filled with furniture from local designers and retailers, participants have 2 hours to solve a series of clues to navigate the maze, while searching for answers to questions about the mission of Habitat to Humanity. All players who correctly finish will be given an opportunity to solve the master clue, with the winner taking home a $2,500 prize package.
The event starts with a reception with various interactive brand experiences, door prizes, and food and drinks. You can join as an individual or partner up as a team to take home the grand prize. Individual tickets are $100 with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.
