Book the baby sitter for next Thursday, June 2 – you don’t want to miss one of Toronto’s best fundraisers and parties, Power Ball XVIII in support of The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery.
  • Date: Thursday, June 2, 2016
  • Time: VIP Party: 7pm – 9 pm, Main Event: 9 pm – late
  • Location: The Power Plant, 231 Queens Quay West, Toronto, ON. M5J 2G8

Presented by Max Mara, this year’s event theme, Pleasure Principle “calls on guests to explore their desires” throughout the art gallery, each featuring a different artist project and party atmosphere.

VIP ticket holders start the night at 7pm with cocktails prepared by BarChef (trust me – they are delicious!), and a special production by New York-based artist Ryan McNamara. The main event starts at 9pm with displays and showcases by Canadian artists, including an “opium den” installation by Karen Tam and “an exploration of (over)stimulation and sensuality” by Laura Kikauka, plus many more other works. So many Instagramable opportunities to show off how great of a night you’re having without the kiddies.

Put on your dancing shoes too because Chicago house music pioneer DJ Mark Farina and Toronto’s Teo Nio and CRSB will spinning throughout the evening and into the wee hours.

Title sponsor Max Mara will have visual installations throughout and there will be performances by contemporary ballet dancer and choreographer Javon Jones, winner of the Max Mara Young Visionary Award for the National Young Arts Foundation.

Funds raised through Power Ball support The Power Plant, Toronto’s leading public gallery dedicated exclusively to contemporary visual art.

Tickets and group packages are available now at HarbourfrontCentre.com. What are you waiting for? Call that babysitter now!
